A WOODY ALLEN INITIATIVE BY THE ALTERNATIVE IMAGING STUDIO

IN THE ACADEMY OF FINE ARTS IN WARSAW

Under the trajectory of discussions at the Alternative Imaging Studio we came to the conclusion that the point of departure for further research will be the work of Woody Allen. This representation engages 12 doctoral students and students: Barbara Debiec, Joanna Gers, Zofia Jakubowska, Joanna K. Jurga, Quynh Trang Nguyen, Przemysław Walczak, Ewa Szyman, Gabriella Nyman, Maria Jankowska, Joanna Gers, Marta Dabrowska-Okrasko, Anna Wrega, Ilona Piwonska. We are interested particularly in that area of Woody Allen's work, which embraces relationships that reach their complexity in different social environments and that represent different life attitudes. Woody Allen is first and foremost a man of his own experiences here and now, with his own multipurpose and a modern language. For the project participants his achievements are definitely worth to reflect upon and to explore in relation to contemporary art. Artistic exercises in custody of Professor Wlodzimierz Szymanski.

it situates young Polish artists in the international circulation, it connects different cultural contexts and different media (including the latest technologies), and it also creates different grounds of conditions for reception.
