CONTEMPORARY ZELIG

Obviously besides Woody Allen’s work, achievements of other artists who were active in New York had a significant influence on forming my creative sensitivity and cultural emotionality. Among them are Piet Mondrian (1872-1944), Roy Lichtenstain (1923-1997), Andy Warhol (1928-1987), Jeff Koons (1955-), Jasper Johns (1930-), Keith Haring (1958-1990). Not to mention about Christo (1935-) and Jeanne-Claude (1935-2009) and Claesie Oldenburgu (1929-).

I dedicated my next project to these artists, invariably in the context of a film Woody Allen's "Zelig" of 1983. The same as Allen talked in his movie about the character Leonard Zelig who became a part of the U.S. history, I project his variation through an apple as a symbol of Manhattan to artists who created in this city. I called the collection Contemporary Zelig.
